Assembly for Chinatown

In collaboration with A+A+A studio, Think!Chinatown has launched “ASSEMBLY for CHINATOWN” to build outdoor dining spaces at no cost to Chinatown businesses. They design, source materials from Chinatown vendors, and construct DoT compliant dining barriers restaurants. Artists beautify and personalize the space for the restaurants with the help of volunteers who come (socially-distanced) together in a help-a-thon to sand and paint the wood barriers.

I was the artist assigned to Sweet Moment on Mott Street! A cute dessert cafe known for their cute bear latte art.

Paper Lanterns Above Pell Street

With the paper lanterns supplied by Pearl River Mart, the Think!Chinatown team partnered up with local AAPI artists to paint lanterns to be hung up in different parts of Chinatown. I was assigned to Pell Street - where I’ve spent countless nights out in my adulthood and have childhood memories growing up in NYC. Now, my art gets to be a part of my home!
